It is one of the first feature narratives from the Caribbean to address homosexuality. My fantasy is that heterosexuals without any knowledge tried to make a movie about homosexuals.

I think in especially messages like this were important, but also in a status quo where varying queer rights are under attack, I think we could use some bold commentary.

This film has it's heart in the right place but there is are some things about it that didn't quite work for me.

Bahamas USA. Romance Drama. This is a film for mature adults because it opens up a discussion about the hypocrisy in our society. Much has been made in the reviews about how on the nose this is, and that's not really what bothers me.

Directed by Kareem Mortimer. The Bahamas are bound by religious traditions that discourage homosexuality and end up forcing gay men into the closet. The film also deals with themes of bisexuality, as a romantic drama film. There is no subtlety here. Fully embracing this will mean you're okay with movies that elevate their polemical content above everything else in their presentation.

Author and director tried very hard — but unfortunately, without a positive result. Not a slight whiff of erotism.
