There was a moment, I forget what movie it was, but I remember the feeling, that I was crying a lot. It's deep but lighthearted. I loved Aspen and Willa together. I could do community theatre. Was there any specific moment that made you realize it was the path for you?

At first many people speculated during the movie that the two would end up together at the end of the movie, later on it was confirmed that Willa and A-Spen became a couple.

I was like, "I want to come, too! Do Willa and A-Spen like each other in Zombies 3? Still, A-Spen doesn’t get presented as a character for the sake of representation in the film. The ship started to gain followers due to the interactions they have with each other.

Ahead of today's drop, we got the chance to chat with Terry all about their unusual path to acting, their favorite moments from filming Z-O-M-B-I-E-S and what it means to be Disney 's first live-action non-binary character. Like Terry, A-Spen is queer and non-binaryand as the aliens allow themselves to feel their true feelings for the first time, the character learns a lot about themself in the process of the invasion of the school.

But I'm on a completely different path now—but I feel like maybe I was always meant to be on this path. Let me just give acting one real chance. Terry Hu, a non-binary actor, portrays A-Spen in the film. In the new film, actor Terry Hu plays the leader of those aliens, named A-Spen.

“ [ ] something I loved about playing A-Spen is that while they’re nonbinary. Being there made me realize I enjoyed it and that I had a knack for it. It sounds so cheesy, but I really remember wanting to affect. Genuinely, I was going to go to school, become a physical therapist, open up a clinic, and I planned to just do theatre on the side—which is fine!

Werewolves referred to their Significant Other as a "Mate" which is a gender-neutral term for Significant. I thought, you know what? I finally felt brave enough to let go of my idea of a traditional career. A-Spen can be seen as the latest addition to Disney’s LGBTQIA+ representation.
